While the Cupertino-based tech giant has already brought some big changes with the 2022 flagship phone, iPhone 14, recent reports suggest that the upcoming smartphone is going to be a lot different from Apple’s last phone.
Though Apple has kept everything about the iPhone 15 Pro under wraps and away from the prying eyes, a few key updates regarding the smartphone found its way on the Internet.
As per reports, Apple may rename the Pro Max model of the iPhone 15 to the ‘iPhone 15 Ultra’.
Bloomberg‘s Ming-Chi Kuo had earlier claimed that the success of Apple Watch Ultra could be the reason behind Apple’s decision to change the name.
Another major update that the iPhone 15 series will receive is the USB-C port. According to reports, Apple will be ditching the lightning charging port on the upcoming series.

Based on Kuo’s claims, the iPhone 15 Pro models will likely get USB-C 3.2 or Thunderbolt 3 transfer speeds. The inclusion of the USB-C 3.2 can significantly enhance data transfer speeds even to the extent of 20Gbps and the Thunderbolt 3 could offer an additional boost of 40Gbps.
It is also being reported that the iPhone 15 Pro will most likely flaunt a Titanium body with a glass back panel.
Now talking about the camera on Apple’s upcoming iPhone 15, the tech giant has some major camera upgrades in the works for its next-generation flagship device. It is rumoured that Apple may include a new periscope lens on the iPhone 15 Pro max. A periscope lens would likely offer higher optical zoom. Interestingly, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra already features a periscope lens that offers up to 10x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom.
