Asset Management Company MD and CEO is back to work from her maternity leave in just six-and-a-half weeks (around 1.5 months).

Radhika Gupta welcomed her first child, Rémy Gupta Moniz, with investor-husband Nalin Moniz on June 23. She announced the arrival of their baby boy on Twitter.

Calling her newborn and work her ‘twins’, the 39-year-old shared that she loves them both equally.

Alongside a string of pictures of her baby and office, the AMC boss said that baby and business don’t blend in a ‘picture perfect’ work-life balance, but bring in a ‘beautifully chaotic harmony’ to her life.

Dressed in a printed saree with a royal blue blouse, Gupta got a grand welcome from her Edelweiss staff too on Monday with balloons and a ‘Welcome back to work, Super Mom’ poster.

This is not the first time the top boss has shared her baby’s picture on social media.

On July 31, she shared a picture with her businessman-husband holding their newborn – wearing the UPENN-Wharton jerseys. Both Moniz and Gupta graduated from Wharton School – the University of Pennsylvania as summa cum laude (highest distinction).

Her post read, “Two degrees x Two of us = Two new pairs of hands and feet.”

The mutual fund boss tagged the official handle of Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology.

Explaining the origin of her baby’s name, Gupta has shared that Rémy, a French origin name, means Oarsman who is optimistic, resilient and diligent. A great oarsman also has a long-term focus. “The name has multi-cultural significance – it means ‘God comforts me’ in Yoruba (a Nigerian language), ‘a pupil of sky’ in Japanese, and precious in Urdu,” the statement said.

The two said they named their baby boy Rémy because they wanted their son to have all these qualities. One of the other reasons to pick this name was new dad Moniz’s love for sports.

The newborn’s name also had a ‘Ratatouille’ reference. Rémy was the name of the ambitious mouse – the protagonist of the 2007 animated film – who loves gourmet meals, dreams big and beats the odds to become the best chef in Paris.

Quoting the lines said by the character Auguste Gusteau from the movie, “You must not let anyone define your limits because of where you come from. Only the fearless can be great,” the new parents hope their son ‘follows these lines and reaches for the stars in whatever he chooses to do in his life’.

Moniz quote-tweeted Gupta’s post and penned a sweet note. “The best listing of our lives. A precious gift we will hold on to forever. Thank you for all your blessings & wishes. We are truly blessed with this boy,” he wrote.

Ever since the baby boy’s arrival, Gupta has been sharing interesting nuggets with her social media followers about being a new mom.

She shared that she has been singing the popular song ‘Nanhi Kali Sone Chali’ from the 1959 film ‘Sujata’ to her little one.
