Argentina speedster Mateo Carreras delivered three big blows to Richard Wigglesworth’s hopes of succeeding Steve Borthwick as Leicester boss.
The Argentinian made the Tigers resemble pussycats with a first-half hat-trick at Kingston Park.
It was a second damaging defeat following the 40-5 thrashing at Sale Sharks for Wigglesworth since taking over as interim boss when Borthwick switched to England.

Wigglesworth said: ‘I don’t think anyone saw the last couple of weeks coming. The first half an hour killed us. We didn’t get a lot right in terms of discipline and were under too much pressure.’
Carreras added: ‘I love playing here. The fans have been unbelievable since I came to Newcastle with their support. We are moving in the right direction.’
Leicester face Clermont Auvergne in their next game as they look to bounce back from this defeat.
