WhatsApp is developing exciting updates to make the user experience even better. The instant messaging app is working on a group setting to approve new participants. for the future update of the app, reported WABetaInfo.

The website also shared a screenshot of the feature through the WhatsApp beta for the Android 2.22.18.9 update. The “approve new participants” feature allows group admins to decide who can join the group.

There will reportedly be a new section that will have all current requests of users that want to join the group. “In this section, group admins can accept or decline incoming requests. Unfortunately, this feature is under development and we don’t know when it will be released,” WABetaInfo wrote.

With the “past participants” feature, all the group members will be able to see who left the group. A new section called “Search Past Participants” will be added to users’ WhatsApp accounts where group members can search the name of the people who left the group in the past 60 days.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp also rolled out the ability to filter unread chats to some beta testers. Users can filter their chats by showing only the ones that contain new messages.
